Postby Riffbear » Mon Jan 25, 2010 5:40 pm
Im after a bike for park trails and road riding..
Might do a little mountain riding. But def nothing too full on.
Im 5"10 108 kg
Just wondering if this would be suitable?
Im happy to spend up to $800

I think that's a pretty good deal for something to get you started. You'll probably wanna change to a different bike soon enough. This one is a good starting point.Riffbear wrote:http://www.bikes.com.au/p/1019663/2010- ... o-mbc.html

Is the Malvern Star 3.0 much better for value?

i figured I could get the brakes later as an upgrade. And 80mm travel in forks was ample for my riding needs.
I got a very good price on the trailbreaker, so i went for it.
the xcs3.0 was the leader in the race to that point.
the trailbreaker 3 seemed to sit between the two xcs2.0 and xcs 3.0

Trailbreaker has semi slick mtb tyres.
Best for you to go into MBC and physically compare. talk to the sales people work out what would be better for what you want.

I wouldn't do it if I was a hardcore rider but its a good entry level and its not to expensive so when you reach the upgrade stage like I have its not to much of an outlay and you've still got a spare bike that you can still ride.

I'd guess that it would be the frame size. If you are 5"10 that may be a tad small for you.Riffbear wrote:Anyone?Riffbear wrote:Thanks!

Giant sizings are a little strange. 50 would be the Medium which is a 56.5 effective TT.
