Another mechanical change I made is to a new design of Watts Link. The older design, shown in images earlier in this thread, reduced ground clearance too much and on rough trails, it could scrape. Because it is positoned wholly above the axle, the new one doubles ground clearance.

G'day Julian,

The level of engineering you've put into this project has made me wonder of your background. Are you a perfectionist perhaps.
Looking at your first pic on tour I had to look twice to notice the trike. If it survived that tortuous road with that load (phew) Looks like you've made one heck of an all terrain tourer.

Hi William, my background is as a school teacher and technical journalist. I don't think I am a perfectionist - or if I am, certainly a failed one! I need to go back to that road with the same load and see how the new damping approach copes, so that's the next test. Thanks for your positives.
