Gday all
So I read about last years rides and events and have been looking forward to this years, since the cycling bug seems to have lockjaw
Anyway I just started this thread to spread the word and to see what everyone else is doing
This is my local rundown http://www.cyclingsouth.org/index.php?o ... &Itemid=48
I'm going to have a go at the Wellington challenge and most likely the 100k ride. It will be good to see some more positive press and it comes at a good time at least locally with Hobart recently completing a sustainable transport strategy .
While im at it heres a local website Ive been following http://healthytransporthobart.wordpress.com/ Ive run into Liam a couple of times and hes a nice young fella, I think they do a good job
Anyway, all the best for a fun and productive Bike Week 2010!!
cheers
Baldy
Edit: I had assumed it was a national thing but after a quick google it seems not, so I changed the title.

Gday Mate
I wont be riding the Mtn, but I will be riding the 100k ride. Maybe we should try a BNA meet up before the ride!
That link you sent is really interesting and has a number of good points along with some interesting figures about pedestrians and cyclists.

Thats a very good question and I was talking about it on our bunch ride yesterday. I guess Ive had the same problem as you, when I registered it wasnt one of the options. Im not sure who to even contact about it?....sekrit squirrel business eh I was going to just turn up on the day but one of the group said that last year they had to cap the numbers at 200? and people were turned away, so im not sure what the go is this year.
If I find out any more I'll let ya know.
cheers

The Mt Wellington Time trial is being conducted by Hobart Wheelers. Do a google on "hobart wheelers" to find their site, and you will be able to find contact points for them.
On their site, select "club info", then select "club contacts".

I'll hopefully be dragging a few mates along to the century ride, but won't be riding the mountain. I've been largely off the bike for a few months so it's gonna be a struggle.

Gday Barry, welcome aboard mate its good to see another local on the forum.
Im not doing the summer survival but planning to go down and watch, sounds like fun.
Im not sure about the 100k ride map either, I get the same broken link.
Good luck with the Tri, I hope mother nature is kind to us both on the day
Cheers
