I'm visiting BrisVegas this weekend & would like to do a spot of riding.
Finding it impossible to source a road bike for hire ( don't want a hybrid, mtb or k-mart bike...)
Bike shops I have rung have been less than helpful.
Any suggestions most welcome - rather frustrated now Had no idea it would b so difficult.

I tried to do this a couple of years ago (in Brisbane) but had no luck at all. The closest was bike hire near the gardens but that was only hybrids. Perhaps one of the bike clubs could help. Clubs I know of are HPRW, Balmoral, Wynnum-Manly. Get in contact with Bicycle Queensland as well.

Unfortunately one of the 'less than helpful' search results I've already tried.brockie2 wrote:Brisbane Bicycle Sales & Hire

This might be worth a phone call, try http://www.epiccycles.com.au/
A friend of mine sometimes hires a (touring quality) tandem from this shop.
If they have a good tandem for hire i would suspect they might also have good road bikes - you hope.
Give them a phone call.

How you going Madrapper ?
Had any luck with getting a road bike ?
Actually if i had a spare bike i would gladly lend you one but my road bike would not fit anyone else on this planet.
If brisbane weather stays like it is today then it will be quite pleasant for riding over the weekend
Suggest you try the river loop, usually very popular in the mornings.
Mt Coot-tha can be very nice but only if you are fit enough and it is not too hot.

I was able to hire a great bike (alloy/carbon) from.
Wolves Bike Den
31 Morayfield Road
Caboolture.
Great Service from Tony. I drove from Forestlake as most shops contacted did not want to know. But as a result of his attention WBD will now sell my visitor a bike to leave here for future rides.
