A typical chain for a geared bike these days is bushingless, which allows them to flex sideways... Not what you want on a single/Fixed gear bike. I run a KMC Cool chain (1/8th) on mine.
As far as 1/8 or 3/32 is concerned, either can be used, as long as if you run a 3/32 you match it up to a 3/32 chainring and sprocket. With a 1/8 chain you can use 3/32 chainrings and sprockets, but.... it isn't ideal, and you need to be really 100% spot on with your chainline to ensure there are no accidental derailments.

Avail in many colours and only about AUD$30.
Used by the arguably the best fixed gear freestyle rider in the world - Tom LaMarche
(so us mere mortals won't break it!)

Yeah seconded. Chain is a chain. I just ask for the cheapest. Don't even know what brand it is

Very possibly. A local bike mechanic told me that KMC make unbranded chains for budget brands, and they are just as reliable .hartleymartin wrote:Are KMC chains the ones you get from K-Mart for $13? I've used a few of them - I can't fault them yet.
