17th Feb Uriarra Loop, anyone?

Postby yyeric » Sun Feb 14, 2010 6:06 pm

Got a day off on the 17th.

Anyone interested in doing the Uriarra Loop on the 17th Wednesday at 8AM from Cotter road Streeton drive traffic light or Scrienver Dam?

Do the Uriarra Loop anti-clockwise with the detour to climb Stromlo Observatory on the way back.

Will take little more than 2 hours to finish the ride.

A 7AM start should get you ride the loop and come back to work for 9AM easy. Or flex..... like I did. flex the whole day.

Hmmmmm tempting as I was riding to work anyway which has me leave (AT) 6.30am. But I generally ride straight to work and then leave the Km to the afternoon.

Flex......i do have 14hours but was saving it for a few days off in March. I'll see what I have on Wed morning that is if you are keen to meet earlier. I'd have to prob skip Mt Stromlo on the way back in though and head straight thru to work.

How early do you have in mind? Should be able to do it. Will start from Acton so only a 30min form my place to the traffic light of cotter/streeton drive.

No worries about Mt Stromlo. Will probably plan to do 2 laps of the loop instead.

I would leave my place (AT) 6.30 and go direct to Stromlo through the back of Weston so i guess meet at the SFP entrance or Cotter rd/Uriarra Rd around 7am.

No biggy if you want to go a bit later, can aim for a Saturday bash.

Just sent in my bike for a quick repair and should pick up the bike this arvo.

6:30 probably a bit too early for me mate. Will go for a later start tomorrow, I afraid.

Probably catch you Saturday though.

No worries, i wouldn't be getting up then either if i had the whole day off. I'll rack up my Km tomorrow arvo :)

Edit: Won't get to ride to work either now thanks to Australian Air Express. A parcel was supposed to arrive today but it is still sitting on the tarmac in Brisbane. They say "we have access to every Qantas flight" yet its been there for 24hrs and hasn't been put on a plane yet . So gotta drive now so i can be home before the PO closes to collect it.
