Any bike sales on at the moment?

Postby heggs1980 » Mon Oct 01, 2007 9:54 pm

HI all

I am currently in the market for a new road bike (up to maybe $2,000, but probably around $1,500), and was wondering if anyone knew if there are any sales of run out models on at the moment?

And how many stores do trade ins on old bikes? This could swing my decision as I will have no need for my old bike once i get the new one

Thanks

Not sure about trade ins but pretty much every shop will be selling off 2007 bikes with a reduction as 2008 bikes are now out or already in the shops. Bought mine about 6 weeks ago and got $500 dollars knocked off and a free helmet thrown in. Have a good look around as the only problem finding a bike late in the sales now will be finding one you like in your size.

I've seen bikes on sale in the last week at Fleet and BikeForce. TBE had one a little while ago but I haven't been in lately. You just never know what you will find in any store.

TBE still have some 2007 Giants reduced by 30%. You'll get a OCR C1 for around $2000 thats if they still have one in your size. Call into a shop and take one for a ride take your riding shoes with you. I almost bought the OCR C2 from TBE in Nedlands for $1750. They set the bike up for me, very basic bike fit, left them my car keys and rode around the back streets for about 30 minutes. I would have bought from them if I didn't score a great deal on a secondhand bike in a private sale.

Now if they let me do that, I would probably not bother going back for my car

Howdy Heggs

Can't honestly say what the deal is with trade-ins but some shops have used bikes for sale (maybe on behalf of the owners)

I agree what everyone else says on the deals at the moment. The GLW and I both bought bikes (road and womens MTB/hybrid) from Bikeforce Woodvale and they threw in all sorts of stuff as well as knocking quite a bit of the price. The better deal was on the Pilot as it was last years model.

They mainly have Treks, Felt, Orbea but any other shop maybe doing the same at this time of the year.

TBE in Osbourne Park had some really good prices on Specialized a few weeks ago. They may have some left.

TBE 07 sale

I just bought the TCR Alliance 07 for $1960 from TBE in Nedlands.
They are selling all their 07 Giants at good prices.
I could not find cheaper anywhere in OZ.
