Next big ride???

Postby mrgolf » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:02 pm

Hey guys. Still miffed I missed Amy's last week. Looking forward to the next big ride. Anyone know when the next one is? There has to be something between now and the Lions Club ride in September (?IIRC).

Audax have a few interesting rides

Calender can be found here: http://audax.org.au/public/index.php?op ... Itemid=176

I am off to do the Gunning 150km this Sunday.

Will aim to do the Stairway to Corin 150km on 29th May too. (An undulating ride along Paddys River Road towards Tharwa, stopping in at Tidbinbilla Tracking Station, then to Corin Dam).

Gunning one sounds good, bit short notice for me though :(.

100km Stairway option also sounds good. I'm keen to go give Cotter-Tidbinbilla-Tuggers a crack in the next few weeks if anyone is keen. Would be a nice warmup for the Audax one

Last day to register Gunning 150 is Thursday COB. Not too late yet mate.

Not expecting any big group though. I think it's only in one group of 3 or 4.

The Cotter-Tidbinbilla-Tuggers ride. is it in the direction you mentioned here or the other way around? happy to tag along on this one.

Yeah, short for me too considering I have a bunch on over the next several weekends. Stairway sounds awesome. I like hills. Corin looks like an awesome challenge.

Thanks for the info.

Taking it easy for the next week or 2 ie. 2-3rides/week & relatively short. Got a full week off after Easter so planing my assault on my weekly Km PB then

Happy to go either way, although prob the way i mentioned as that is what the Audux is going by the sounds.

Thats not the week of school holidays, is it? I am planning a few bigger rides over that fortnight. If its that time and you are up for a ride or two, let me know.

Whats your PB record you are trying to beat? Mine is 360kms. Too intimidated to try to beat it.

Likely, week 5th - 11th April.

PB was a few weeks ago, managed 336km. Best before that was 330. I'm thinking a 100 early in the week and another one at the end should help. And in-between a few 60-80km efforts. Knowing my luck now though it will rain the whole time :|

I don't feel like such a wuss now. :)

I've got two weeks of competition left before I take a break, and I'll probably do some longer rides such as Lookout Hill -> Corin Dam return etc. Probably Sunday mornings or Saturday afternoons.

Always keen, but life is getting in the way a bit. Weekends are easing soon so hit me up if you want a buddy. Often free during the week too

Im secondary. I love the actual classroom stuff. The rest can get stuffed. I teach kids how to sound good and get gigs, have some self respect and not to take themselves too seriously. Not a bad way to get paid.

No wonder I am not catching you. I am only on a mere 210kms for the week, with about 90 tomorrow and a few on Sunday.
