ssssh Fun Runs
Postby BarryTas » Mon Mar 29, 2010 8:21 am
I can hear my legs screaming now as I sit at my desk and think about running as of this week I will have to start running training for Fun Runs.
There are three fun runs on in a row,
Mothers Day Fun Run, 8 or 4 km
City to Casino Fun Run, 11 or 7 km
Kingston Fun Run, 5km…I think, or it could be six.
So I will be confusing and hurting my legs with a combination of running, cycling and a bit of strength training.
I invite and encourage you all to have a crack at, at least one Fun Run, even if you a pure cyclist you will be surprised at how fats you can run and how much fun it is.

I do most of the fun runs, I'm not a runner but I cna run a decent 4k run in 22-23mins. I try and beat the previous years time, I will NOT do the Point to Pinnacle again!
I dont know if the Jim Don Memorial run is also happening this year, put on by the Harriers, 24hr run Sat-Sun, 4k or 8k on the Sunday.

Nice day for it, from the start everyone went out really quickly. That last hill hurt a lot. Both calves cramping, right hip a bit sore. Nice weather, and I did a good run especially not being a flat run.
City to Casino next weekend.

I'll be doing the rest of the Fun Runs, City to Casino, and Kingston. I've done most runs for the past couple of years, steadily getting better, I'm still no runner Ive been running most weekends with AthleticsSouth, as well.

very very happy.
just goes to show what a bit of running each week for about 2 months can do. Now i want to redo the Burnie 10, my time was 47mins. But all i had been doing was TT training for the Freycinet Challenge.
now, kingston 6km fun run - then - 20kmTT - then a week of - then get into the training for the winter challenge and fighting the dending evil weather
