Anyone interested in a quick spin from anywhere on Northbourne to turn off off Old Federal Highway?
Travel on New Federal Highway and it will be around 20km one way.
Start from 8:30 or 9AM. Need to get back at 10:30 at least, but won't envisage taking this long.
to Old Federal Highway turnoff tomorrow (approx 40km total)

Can't do it - I've doing a training ride to help a guy get ready for the Canberra tour. 100+km of pain and suffering... I must be nuts.
I ride, therefore I am. But don't ride into harm's way.

He's doing the tour, I'm just keeping him company for training rides.
103.82km at 24km/h, 1578m of vertical climb. Weston -> Tuggeranong -> Point Hut -> Corin Forest -> Cotter -> Uriarra -> Weston. Our loop from Friday was 1051m of vertical climb, 24.7km/h.
Food/drink for today was a concern so we were taking it easy for the flats and only pushing hard on the hills. Didn't work, he started to run out of power as we came past Coppins crossing road. I was a ba$tard - that's when I started doing some sprints.

Skip the tracking station, do Corin to the dam wall instead. It adds about 300m of climbing. And watch out for wallabies on the descents...yyeric wrote:Is that to the Corin Dam? Would love that one after we done the Tracking Station next week.
Nope - I'm not CA licensed. And this was supposed to be my 'off' season.yyeric wrote:You not doing the tour?

Interesting idea. probably leave that until next time (unless HAKS got other idea?). would definitely love to do the Corin ride soon though.twizzle wrote: Skip the tracking station, do Corin to the dam wall instead. It adds about 300m of climbing. And watch out for wallabies on the descents...

I'm assuming you didn't have bricks in the panniers for this little ride?twizzle wrote:Food/drink for today was a concern so we were taking it easy for the flats and only pushing hard on the hills. Nope - no panniers involved.psike wrote:I'm assuming you didn't have bricks in the panniers for this little ride?twizzle wrote:Food/drink for today was a concern so we were taking it easy for the flats and only pushing hard on the hills. I rode the Shogun the other day, about 20km - absolutely HATED it. My hip was sore for two days after (40mm wider Q factor), and it was SLOW.
