cell victor

hello, has anyone purchased a cell victor? if so what are your thoughts on it? Any good?

I don't know anything about Cell but that is certainly a lot of bike for the money.

The frame design seems to have changed since the first batch of 2008 victor that was sold out....

Someone on here mentioned someone coming off "a cell carbon bike" and the frame instantly going to splinters...

In any case, if you want your carbon bling, that's probably the most cost-effective way to get it! Pretty good groupset for the money too.

About time we had a link to this Cell Victor isn't it? So we know what we're talking about ... hang on, maybe I should rephrase that seeing we rarely know what we're talking about :roll:

Looks a nice unit. Ultegra SL groupset. Velly nice ... in a carbonny sort of way. I like the way they've used the ability of carbon to give more intersting shapes without going to some of the ridiculous curves we're seeing from some other manufacturers.

I wouldn't buy a Cell carbon frame myself. Cheaper carbon frames are not as light or strong as say an OCLV frame from Trek, and are not as well covered by warranty and crash replacement policies.

Wouldn't buy a Scott either, though for different reasons.

As Richard said it does look like a nice unit.

But the interesting shapes IMO are ghastly looking shapes. Too chunky.

I've seen the new Victors up front. I must admit, I liked the older 2007 frames quite a bit more. Also, with Cell substantially changing frame design between their 2007 and 2008 models, it's hard to know how relevant the older reviews are.

It is a nice looking unit Stevos, the big question is how well one of them feels hanging off your bum. Can you get a test ride?

If the answer is along the line of "YEAAAHHHHH :D " then go for it, the spec is damn good for the dough.

I find the shapes of the frame odd. It seems to be strengthened in places where it doesn't need it (apart from the head tube) and thins out where I thought strength would be crucial such as the BB and the near the rear derailer hanger.

But, I don't know much about frame design so it's just purely a perception thing.
