There is an age adjustment scale applied to actual results, so that people of all ages, and sexes, can compete on a fair basis. The event can also be entered by individuals, or there is a teams section for 2 person, 3 person, or 4 person teams. I believe that a team is given an age adjustment based on the age of the oldest member of the team, so a team of , say, three 45 year olds and one 60 year old would be given an age adjustment for a 60 year old.

Im looking forward to this TT, being the ultimate in road racing, the race against the clock or race of truth. Training should pay off and set a age standard time!

Greetings fellow cyclists,
The STVCC (Vets cycling club) are conducting a 20 km time trial at Richmond on Sunday 6/6/10.
The event can be entered as an individual, or there is an option to enter as 2,3, or 4 person teams.
I have an allergy to pain, so would like to enter as part of a 4 person team in order that a little rest can be taken along the way. The idea is that we go out and have a bit of fun, nothing serious, and certainly nothing painfull. An age adjustment scale is applied to the times recorded, in order to enable people of all ages to compete against each other and give everyone a chance at victory. In a four person team, one team member is permitted to drop away after the halfway turn, and the teams time is taken on the third member over the finishing line. The entry fee is $5, and a short term licence is required for people without a Cycling Australia Licence.
If you are interested in taking part in a team, send me a pm and we can get in touch. I am a masters7 grade rider, which means "in the upper age brackets", or as I prefer "not very fast but pretty to watch!". I am not looking for A grade riders; on the contrary; average or very average will be adequate.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Jeff

Might be a Dome team go out on the day, the last Dome TT team had a stack which put Pete in hospital and a knee operation in Melb.

I'll be riding solo.

It's all about speed, time trialing is the ultimate in racing. No excuses.

Barry, if you know anyone wanting to enter as part of a team, please point them in my direction. Not everyone wants to ride hard all the way alone, and the team section suits those, like me, who like to mix effort with relative rest along the way.

My favourite places are Newtown Track, Seven Mile and Richmond. Bellerive Alexander Esplanade, into South Street (almost a crit). Its good to get out to Seven Mile, its wind affected nearly every time, so real world conditions. I go to the track on Thursday mornings to work on speed.

the track is good but i can never get there when it's free,

the trick is to find somewhere:
* i can ride to that is not too far away (yes i dont have my licence yet, and yes i do have time to get it but i prefer to train insteed)
* a nice stretch of flatish/straightish road 10kms min in length...its good to have some slight hills and bends
* minimal traffic

Richmond Road is also another good road to train on, being its undaulting and smooth flat road.

I would get there at 8 to register and warm up. I like to be early. Race time 10am, have to register by 940.

Does everyone realise it is a teams event?

Barry, you are correct. Those who fancy themselves as serious time trialists will almost certainly be riding solo. I heard today that a gent and lady will be riding a tandem. Teams can be made up of 2, 3, or 4 riders. Short term CA licences are $33 for 1 day, or $44 for 3 days. I understand that a series of Time Trial events will be held in a couple of months time, so a 3 day licence could carry over to those events, and counts as a full credit of $44 if you subsequently choose to go to an annual licence.

My posting of a little while back is repeated here:-
"Greetings fellow cyclists,

Please note, I am not a spokesperson for the Vets club, merely a poor timetrialist looking for team mates.
