Finally, an affordable LOOK track frame

This will be my next track bike, I am pretty much 99% sure about it. Look AL 464 P

Aus RRP is about $1500, but can be had for under $1k shipped from chari and co. (should avoid import duty at that price)

Frame is 100g lighter than the Look 496 ($12K for frame only). So no, it isnt heavy.

Anyway, just thought I would share it. It looks like a top bit of kit to me.

Nearly 2Kg seems heavy for a modern alloy frame without any fittings, eh.
And as I said, "LooK"s heavy.
Track Riders, are like anybody else, mate, when you reach a level (you may, some-day?)
every little thing counts, I can personally vouch for that (more so than road riders)
Every millimeter and microsecond counts, if your not familiar with the track, and competition.

Doubt you would notice the "differance", when you LooK at it, and save yourself ~80% of the price.
Can put the savings to some "LOOK" decals.
Anyway, all the best, it will only be the time you put in on the bike,
that will make the final difference.

Track bikes still have to meet a minimum weight.

With less "dangly" bits than a roadie, there can be more weight in the frame which usually results in a stiffer bike. Perfect for power transfer. So because the frame maybe heavier than a roadie frame doesnt mean trackies dont watch their weight.

BTW i dont worry about weight!!

that is a very nice bit of kit indeed! I would lurve some steel for a nice road or track bike, one day I will own a nice Colnago Master x-light... mmmm...

Are there any shops in the Sydney area that keep a reasonable range of track bikes in store? Most places I've visited all have to order a bike in order for me to be fitted for it... And if I don't end up getting it I'd feel like I was wasting their time.
