Just got back from a beautiful 80k's in the Hills - glorious day, leaves falling, sun shining, legs working.

I did the same Saturday morning, riding up Norton Summit right around dawn. Not a breath of wind and not a single bird singing, the peace and quiet was just beautiful.MichaelB wrote:Well got out Sunday morning with a ride through Norton Summit to Mt Lofty and down Greenhill Rd.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Absolutely beautiful.
It felt heaps warmer up on Mt Lofty and got progressively colder again on the descent down the old freeway. What struck me was the diversity of cycle clothing on display...from full finger gloves, arm warmers, leg warmers, gillets, waterproof jackets and booties (ie full winter kit) to several people riding in nothing more than a jersey and shorts (ie the kind of clothing I ride in in the middle of summer). It took me about an hour to warm up again when I got home (and I was wearing my full winter cycling kit) so whats with the people who can ride around in 5-6C air temps and not feel cold? Or are they just faking it and quietly freezing their brass monkeys?

And I had a nice addition to your clothing collection, knee warmer on my head to keep ears warm in place of missing correct piece of kit

Bugger. Been there and done that already. Twice.RobRollin wrote:I know, I really REALLY don't want to be at work. Nice day outside, warm, no much wind, and on Wed we are being made redundant .
And the forecast is for rain on Thursday....
Good luck in th job hunting. My two redundancies led to career changes that have made life much better.

So I went to Lobethal and back (Cos I've been slack and Grandslam3 is going to hurt).
Beautiful weather, autumn leaves. Just stunning.
Thought you'd like to know.

You are right, with the sun shining and the autumn leaves, it's a great time in the hills.
Forecast is 19 deg with 90% chnace of rain. So it will probably be 18 & sunny

Ahead of you there... have a 'sick day' all planned for tomorrow... should be out on the bike by 9am, down to Aldinga and back for 80km and a coffee at The Tin Shed at McLaren Vale on the way home.by76 wrote:I think there is a need for a group "mental health day" ride coming on here.

Very jealous. Was going to go and do the same today but got busy and then have a trip next week. Have to get out Saturday and hope the rain holds off Sunday.U2adam!!! wrote:Ahead of you there... have a 'sick day' all planned for tomorrow... should be out on the bike by 9am, down to Aldinga and back for 80km and a coffee at The Tin Shed at McLaren Vale on the way home.by76 wrote:I think there is a need for a group "mental health day" ride coming on here.

Coopers as an energy drink - might be a new marketing angle for them? Love dark ale, love riding. But the two together? i couldnt keep it down.
