It was nice to see that he kept his comments positive re his team, they'll be more inclined to spend everything for him. But BMC don't look strong and I'm not sure the addition of George and ???? will make them much stronger for Le Tour. Even LA needed a strong team.

From BMC Racing ... some interesting facts about the win me thinks ...
Evans is now second overall, 1:12 behind new leader Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana). He becomes the first reigning world champion to win a stage of the Giro since Moreno Argentin in 1987 and the 10th Australian to do it. "I think second is a good position to be in right now," Evans said. "We'll see tomorrow how the first true mountain stage goes. There's a long way to go before Verona." Evans and Vinokourov shattered the race by driving the pace up the hard-packed limestone climb of Strade Bianchi. "It's a stage that was suited for me and we prepared well for it. The course reconnaissance we did paid off."

The conditions, course and result will become the stuff of Giro and cycling legends.
Thanks Andrew for the link to La Gazzetta - it is superb, even if my wife thought I was a bit weird yelling at the computer last night.

Dramatic #Giro day....boys were great at getting me back from a puncture 35k to go. No kind words for moto's blocking the road (& race).

Hi
And a bit more of an explanation from the BMC team pages ...
Evans said there were nervous moments after his puncture with 30 km to go. "The photography motorbikes were blocking the roads and that opened up some splits in the crosswinds."

Thats almost funny...I would imagine Jessica Watson with her world beating attitude probably wouldnt view Cadels tweet as being negative. I certainly didnt see it that way either...but then again, I tend to see things in the positive.
If he had his arse handed to him in that stage and blamed the poor showing on the motos then that would be negative...the moto comment reinforces how great his team mates were in getting him back IMO.

+1 Maybe he also threw it in there as a not to subtle hint to the organisers to keep the vehicles out of the riders way

LOL Glad it isn't just me! A guy at work mentioned it to me yesterday. He is new to cycling and is enthralled with the Giro and the goings on. He wandered in to the office and asked me if I followed Cadel on twitter. Not any more I said. "I can see why, he is such a whingy bitch!" was his reply.

He truely needed to pull his head in in previous years, but by and large his comments are justified. And look at the last stage. Beaten up Zoncolan by a confessed drug cheat and he still comes off second best? Seems a bit rich with some of the media !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !! stirring the pot again today.
Bugger role model behaviour. Id have a special pointed headbutting post race helmet. Im probably a tad more blood thirsty and vindictive though
