Peleton conversations

Postby shiv » Fri May 14, 2010 11:07 pm

Just a random thought before, With all the time spent stuck in a peleton at well below flat out pace, how much do the riders chat to each other and what about?

relationship problems, skin care, bad bosses, trying to coordinate their riding apparel.. it's all up for discussion :)

and there is always at least one self-appointed peleton-policeman yelling orders. usually telling people to get a move on...when they could just lead by example and have a crack themselves

AM I the only one who has trouble hearing anything that anyone says in the peleton (or in my case on bunch rides..."peleton" is a bit of an overstatement...or even just riding with a mate)??

My current helmet seems to channel the wind across my ears and I really struggle to hear unless the other people really speak up...drives me crazy...I'm not deaf in other situations :x

lol this happened in my handicap on the weekend - there was a guy constantly shouting instructions to keep the B grade paceline going - most instructions were along the lines of ease up, don't go fast out of the corners etc - anyway people started ignoring him so the pace picked up and he was the first to get dropped, it was fairly amusing - then he was still yelling instructions at us as he rolled around solo each time we went past him!!
