Spotting Spam

Postby AUbicycles » Wed May 19, 2010 8:18 pm

The spam post reporting is going well - makes it easy for mods to spot. Thank you.

One type of newer spam post I want to point out are from newbies who are not doing a cut and paste - though trying to stay on topic - but none the less provide a typically useless post which contains a URL or includes a URL in the signature promote some kind of product or service.

It's pretty easy to miss these though the tell-tales signs is:
- a newbie with less than 5 or 6 posts
- URLs included in post content
- No real contribution to the thread - content kind of off-track

No harm in reporting anything which you feel may be spam - if it is, then the post gets removed and the User banned, if not, the report is deleted, thats it.

Cheers
Christopher
