From what I saw it was a bit of slapping and hand gesturing.

Cadel and the other guy got fined 2000 Euros. Charged with something like unsportsmanlike conduct. Reading Cadels tweets seems he wasn't impressed with himself even. Can't wait to watch the rest.
Yesterday was an easy day.

Just looking at the standings it seems like things have tightened up nicely. Of those I recognise it looks like we have Sastre in the 'lead' with a minute on Wigins and then Vino and Cadel a further minute back. That seems tight enough that none of them is out of it - but gives me hope that Cadel might just make it.

Anyone who actually knows what is going on care to comment?

So Porte is still in second and Evans and Vinokourov are looking to improve their changes...

Unfortunately had to missed the last 80km - my right to TV time was rejected... family first :|

Jasimon, Cadel will have it tough - seems hard for him to escape very far without being trailed.

Well he did make up over a minute on Vino and more than that on other GC contenders in the last stage and there's still a lot of mountains to come, so I wouldn't discount him at all yet

Zoncolan....Then up hill time trial climbing 1000m in 10km's...then one stage with 6500m of climbing...I think it is fair to say that the time gaps will be huge in the coming days!.

Everything I've read suggests that this is a very tough climb. There's 10k averaging 11.5%

Basso going along very quietly, seems to be building....

Then they get a day off ;-)
Before a 12.8km ITT, however, it does go up 1080m and the last half is dirt ;-)

the Giro is tough

Still pretty good. Watching the last few km's after Basso dropped Cadel - it then looked like Cadel - out of the seat - was actually catching up again though the gap kept on increasing - champion effort. Not to forget Porte who is still second and had a pretty good finish to stay in touch.

Aussies still in Red, Yellow and White!

Haven't watched it yet, but sounds like a stirling effort, by both basso & Evans.

The ITT will be interesting for sure !!!

Richie Porte really was impressive...he beat a lot of big names up Zonco yesterday!.
Looking forward to the TT :D .
And the crowds at the top were amazing!!!.

Apart from the Prologue, Wiggans has been unimpressive.

I guess the key stage is now the ITT, even though there are some big mountains still to come as taht way the Leakygas guys can't gang up on Cadel.

It seems as though it will be between Basso & Cadel. I don't think any of the others have really shown much to talk about.

If only that huge split didn't happen........ then again, we wouldn't see that racing that we are now !!!

Hi All,

Just got back from Italy, the land where cyclists go to carboload before the upcoming winter road season (or so i hope). I convinced the missus that standing in the pouring rain for 3 hrs to see the Giro come through on stage 7 was a great idea. We were standing on the climb of Bibbiano (15%) just after the course came off the first dirt road section. The sound the bikes were making up that climb put a kmart clunker to shame. The riders were understandably unhappy, one guy did turn and smile at our camera, but it looked more like a grimmace. We also were shown on a close up in the evening's highlights!

Anyway, here are some photos.

Whatever you think of Cadel you can't question his heart, it's huge. Another gutsy performance from the WC.

Basso makes it look easy, well easier than it should look.

Spinner vs Grinder, chalk another one up to the spinner.

Great pics Strawburger :D

Cadel had 34/27 combo on and Basso had 36/29.
