Finally had something to post in Int. Race section Hopefully he can get his Aussie racing license and we might go Two from Two for the Worlds"I am not going to do the Worlds Championships for Germany just to be World Champion. If I want to ride the Worlds to become World Champion then [it will be] definitely in Australian colours," Haussler told Australia's SBS.

Altough a breakaway will probably suceed so they will be sprinting for a place in the top ten, just got to hope Simon Gerrans is in the break.

The italian director apparently did a recon not that long ago and said that its almost certainly going to be a bunch sprint so dont count out an Aussie win just get. The only problem is choosing a rider and then working for that one and getting the guys working that last kilometre like Columbia do. I actually think Renshaw is our best chance for a Bunch sprint but Hausslers definitely a very close second. Whoever can hold there form that late into the season will be picked Renshaw would have built his entire season around leading Cav out at the Tour so his form may have dropped off buy then.Zabriskie19 wrote:Wow that's an awsome sprint team then for next years worlds, better than any other country.

It's going to be a big call who they all ride for, and alot of pressure on that individual to succeed.

Here the link to the other thread, basically it he has to reject his german citzenship, which would be a hard thing to do. But i think if hes pushed to the point of deciding between that and riding for Australia he would do it hopefully doesnt come to that.

That's pretty draconian isn't it? Perhaps they can just impose a time rule so that the rider can't jump b/n countries every year.AUbicycles wrote:Now I understand, thanks for the link to the SBS article. He has to give up citizenship in order to conform to the UCI rules which say that once a (dual nationality) rider chooses to race for one country, they can't just change - so if he gives up German citizenship he is then eligible to race for Australia.

Obviously Cadel is reigning WC, but does the course suit him better than yourself or Gerrans ?
What are your key targets for 2011 ? Classics and which GT ?
Will you be at the 2011 TdU ?
Have a good interview and please wish him well for the change of citizenship and recovery from his operation.
Cheers
Michael B
