Postby Dr_Mutley » Sun Jul 18, 2010 10:24 pm

Is there any LBSs in Adelaide that carry Castelli gear? As far as i am aware, BE doesnt. Any of the other well know places have any castelli clothing or jackets/gilets?

I've had to buy my Castelli gear from the usual OS websites.

I could have sworn they had Nalini there, but dont remember Castelli.
I remembered the Nalini branded stuff because I had a look at some Giant jersey/bibs and noticed the bibs were actually made by Nalini.
On the racks on the back wall they had a few items of Nalini's own branded bibs, but nothing compared to the range available in Europe.

Regardless of which of those 2 brands, there was hardly any range.

I have noticed that stock/variety range in most bike stores is declining

I've been to a few cycle shops here and I agree the choices seem to be limited.
Online seems the way to go to obtain clothing but sizing is always the issue, once bitten before.

Definitely a lack of Castelli is Adelaide. Shame as I have become a Castelli fan over the last few years!

Perhaps trying to convince one of the shops to stock them may be worthwhile (new shop in Hove?!)

what i do is go off the size charts, order it and if it doesnt fit then ebay it and order the correct size. still probably works out to half retail price anyway. then once you know your size in that brand you are all set.
if i get killed while out on my bike i dont want a 'memorial ride' by random punters i have never met.

Or order online from a store that excepts returns/exchange and then try the next size up/down.

Now that cassons are no longer importing Castelli clothing most LBS are unable to find new stock I beleive.

Thanks for the reply guys...
Emu: seems that way... Which is a shame...

The main problem is like the castelli gear but being a tall fella I tend to find it's a little short in length for me... Hence why it would be nice to try and buy local for a change... Oh well ;-)

I love Castelli gear, but as other have discovered thier sizing is notoriously wrong. By that I mean its always on the small side, so if you normally wear medium like me you have to buy large.

So I've done the same thing as Alex, just sell it for what I paid or close to it so as not to lose too much money.
