i'm going to plead tony abbott on this - not everything that i say off the bat should be taken as gospelChuck wrote:Just saw an interview with LA on SBS done before last nights stage, apparently he's "ignorant of pro cycling culture and norms". He didn't have a problem with Contadors attack but did have a crack at his denial that he didn't see Andy's mechanical.jules21 wrote:with respect, i think people who say Contador was within his rights to attack are ignorant of pro cycling culture and norms.
Sorry jules but I think your assertion that those who have taken the alternate view are "ignorant" is off the mark. And those in the peleton are far from unanimous on this issue.
what i really meant was that riders should take into account matters beyond the letter of the rules. i acknowledge that the circumstances of that particular incident were not necessarily as clear cut as my earlier post may have implied.

I'd rather see Andy be up by 4 minutes to make Contador attack to get time back, but as a spectator, it's set up to be some good viewing tonight (I just hope Andy can get in front by 1+ minute so the TT still plays a part in the end result)

Just signed up to see if anyone knew about somewhere in Melbourne a bunch of Tour geeks could head out and watch the stage tonight somewhere? Preferably with the commentary up and stuff.
Sorry if this has been covered, had a quick peruse and couldn't find anything.
Cheers

Waking up here in Pau to a massive rain storm. Hmmm.. Will be quite the contrast to the heat of previous days. #notcomplainingatall!

Is it too much to ask that an Aussie or two get in the break, would love to see Cadel or Mick win on such a legendary climb
4 stages of this years Vuelta live on SBS

there talking about the Americans are happy that their bikes are getting a good show... but what about the famous chain drop - was that a mechanical or rider error? Don't know if there was a definate answer on that.
