BMC Reinforcements

Postby Mr Squiggle » Fri Aug 13, 2010 11:08 am

So does anyone know anything about Amaël Moinard?? Apparently he will be moving from Cofidis to BMC next year as reinforcements for Cadel Evans in the mountains.

I have only been following the cycling for a year or two, and have only ever seen him win King of the Mountains and a stage in Paris-Nice this year. Has he done anything else of note?, and do people think he will be a valuable asset for BMC should the rumours be confirmed?

That's the kind of thing that can make a career.

Hence the reason I asked if he had done anything else.

Looks like he might potentially be useful, but I reckon BMC might still be looking to bolster its climbing support stocks a little more.

They need an entire teams worth of climbers with some passion instead of the disjointed crap Cadel had this year

I think his broken elbow had more of an influence on his performance in the mountains than his team did.

But to be fair...50 riders didn't finish the final stage on this years Critérium du Dauphiné final stage....but then also he was 50 minutes down on the previous days stage as well finishing on Alpe D'Huez...so not so sure he will be helping too much in the big climbs.

Well that sounds real promising then doesn't it...

28 years old he is - does that make him in his prime or not quite yet??

Phinney has now signed for BMC, must make Lancey feel a bit dopey, especially after putting him on as a Stagiare in RS and on the Livestrong U23 as well ...... Will be a good help in TTT's for any GT's GT's for cuddles

Wonder now who Canc will sign for ....

I might have to backflip on my call for the banning of TTT's in GT's. Surely there should be at least 2 in every GT (if Fab signs for BMC) :P :P
