Nope, but BB7s come with an inline adjuster. At least my road set did.Nobody wrote:Does Shimano STI have a barrel adjuster? My Cane Creek V brake drop bar levers don't.Rek wrote:Take up the cable slack with the barrel adjuster...

Thanks for the reply.Rek wrote:Nope, but BB7s come with an inline adjuster. At least my road set did.Nobody wrote:Does Shimano STI have a barrel adjuster? My Cane Creek V brake drop bar levers don't.Rek wrote:Take up the cable slack with the barrel adjuster...
That's where a difference is. The MTB one I have doesn't. Your only adjustments are cable length at clamp and adjusting the outer pad.

I'm champing at the bit to get mine going. Spokes have left Germany now (DHL tracking), but seemingly haven't landed eyt
The decals on the fork, did you remove them ? If so, how ?
Re bedding in, cooperplace had the same issue until it got bedded in, and now he is happy, apart from being a bit noisy ?
Thanks for the pics

Just add them in in-line.
Work a treat as you can fine tune on the run. Half a turn out when it rains or if you are on a dirt road and it stops any dust or muck grind. When it stops or you are back on the tar half a turn back in and your back to tight as a drum.

Scroll down a bit. The mini ones seem to work just as well as the in-line but the in-lines are less of a fiddle to use. I have a pair of J2s sitting in the shed waiting to be tested...

I'll confirm as well that my BB7 road set that I bought did as well.Nobody wrote:

Thanks baabaa. Haven't really had a problem so far. Thought I might get a set anyway, but then found the following statement on the AEBike site:baabaa wrote:Just add them in in-line.

Is this because of the lawyers, or is there a real chance of failure during emergency braking?

Will have a good look on the weekend. Maybe go the metal in-line ones, these are really solid.

Found these earlier , but thanks anyway. Trouble is they are as heavy as. 1150g from memory.
Jacobite, is the 620g for the Mosso forks ?
Had some fun in the shed again last night.
Slipped the new fork in and took some quick measurements. Even when I flip the stem and remove rthe 10mm spacer, I'm about 10 - 15mm higher handlebar height than the current position.
The extra axle-crown height is very obvious , but I think I'll live.
Latest DHL tracking is that it arrived in Aus yesterday, and is in the process of delivery
Some pics to come shortly

Yes, I know, wheel appears off centre as the caliper was touching the spokes on the std wheel used for the demo ....
And here is one with the fork fitted and me trailling positions to see where the handlebar height ends up with the stem flipped
no...., it's not going to stay that way ....

Yep, Mosso's 620gMichaelB wrote: Jacobite, is the 620g for the Mosso forks ?
Original forks 600g.
They're much lighter than they look and you'd expect.

However, I ended up going for a ride last night only to be cut short due to persistent rain and the fun of trying to slow whan a car pulled out of a side road . Duly went home, showered, dinnered and then set to building the wheel.
So, at 9:45pm last night, the front wheel is laced and is ready for truing/full tensioning either tonight after a ride, or Wed night (missus out to dinner).
So, the weekend mught see me disc brake equipped on the road
Some pics to come in the next few days ....
Then the back wheel will be built to match

No weight sorry but I would guess about 550-600g give or take 50g.MichaelB wrote:Well, if the forks become something other than a once off, I'll be interested to find out the details - cost, axle-crown length , rake and weight.jacks1071 wrote:
My road tandem showed up today - very nice 700c carbon fork fitted with disc brake mount! Unfortunately the fork is a once-off at this point in time.
What would it take to get a "spare" made ?
BTW, bike looks good. Simple colours and branding
CARBON FORK , ALLOY STEER 1 1/8, ALLOY CROWN , CARBON MUSLE BLADE , FORGED DROPOUT , N45 , OFFSET : 43 DEGREE , WITH DISC BRAKE MOUNT , WITH PRO-LITE LOGO
I can get these made - someone (not me as I'm too busy) is welcome to organise a group-buy. The minimum order quantity for this product is 50pcs, I would need 40x pre-sold and would be happy to hold the remaining 10x in my stock. There is more interest in this product than I would have expected..
They would be $370 including delivery to your door.
I could bring in a Avid Disk Brake, Rotor and a built set of wheels. This would be reliant on everyone agreeing to the spoke count on the wheel, rim dept etc as again that'd be a minimum of a 50pc job as well so maybe more difficult to get everyone to agree on the same thing. I suggest we'd build a fairly high-spoke count wheel, 30mm rim and stainless or brass nipples for maximum reliability.
Anyway if the interest is there we can do it as long as we get the numbers.

I'd put my money up for one, so 39 to go ......
Some update on my progress - Good & Bad
Finally finished the wheel, fitted the tyre, aired it up, and all is well. The tyre is about 0.070" wider when fitted on the A23 than when fitted to the Mavic Open Pro rim. All assembled OK, but Stem clamp snapped when torquing it up Wiggle will supply another soon.
Edit : Was in a hurry last night, so now time for more info.
Was doing up the stem bolts (2nd increment using torque wrench set at 6Nm (max is 8Nm on stem), and CRACK Bugger me A new Cinelli one was ordered last night. May get an alternate source in the meantime if I can.
The trye aired up nicely and is holding pressure well. No mess, no fuss
The "in line adjuster" actually has no adjustment The two parts have no threads to move things, so not sure what it is meant to do ?
I'll try and post some pics up during the week after some rides on it.
Oh, and found out that the rake on my fork is actually 43mm, not 45mm as I thought !!!

I could lend you a stem. I've got a spare, Easton, alloy, about 105mm, about 7 degrees rise, you can borrow it if you want,
Peter.

I'd have to measure it - with 700c wheels on my tandem and 28mm gator skins I still have sufficient clearance if that has any bearing on your question?MichaelB wrote:Hi jacks1071. Sounds good, but what is the axle crown length ?
