once i take it out and off the bike, will i be able to use any bottom half/crank/arms and pedals off ebay or lbs?

What bike/frame do you have firstly? A cotter crank does not make it a French BB necessarily. But yeah, you can remove and replace the BB and crank with something else provided the BB fits the frame. Which is why knowing what BB or frame you have is important. And next time you post something up titled French Bottom I expect to see something in a maids outfit. Grumps You are very tedious, and grumpy. Stay at home and give advice from your armchair.
