Rode the course (or about 90% of it) last Monday and then again on Sunday. Parts of it are fairly technical and tight, which will make the first lap or two pretty yuck as people get caught up on things and cause traffic jams, but hey, that's XC. Some sections will be pretty challenging at night - expect carnage as people get tired.
My Sunday loop was going great until I had my first real MTB crash, going a fair clip down an open flowing section of single track. Still don't know exactly what happened but its the first time I've ever actually used a helmet for its purpose . Bit of bark off my thigh and shoulder, a scoured helmet (due for replacement soon anyway) and a written off pair of bibs.

I might try stromlo after the races before I leave. I'm just afraid of falling (seeing as my frame is too big for me) and destroying my family jewels lol

Riding a mtb that is too big for you off road is not the best idea, especially if you're not an experienced mtber.
I luv the 24h... the view of Stromlo at night with all the lights is absolutely beautiful!

Got some pictures of Scotts 24 for those that are interested but couldn't make it down there. Didn't know anyone out there, so I really couldn't tell whom from who.
Still, the riders looked like they were having heaps of fun!
