Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011Hasn't been much chat re Milram lately, and seems like none of the bigger names in the team have signed (or been announced) for any other team....
Leaving it a bit late, or is there light at the end of the tunnel
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011Seems like there is another nail in the Milram coffin - Focus will now provides bikes to Katusha for the next three years ..... (cyclingnews.com)
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011Media, in Europe, take a chance to mention the possible merger of Lance Armstrong and the Schleck brothers team
using the headline "RadioShack or RadioSchleck?." Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011
looks like a bike sponsorship deal with trek, as opposed to a merging of the teams. . . Andy Schleck's new team gets sponsor
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011Whilst Saxo isn't really under threat, the exodus of a significant % of the teams talent surely must hurt him for races other than the TdF/GT's.
It's even reported that whilst Porte is under contract for 2011, he's even making noises about what the future holds ... Seems like when you bring in Bertie, everyone else want's to go ...... So what is the % chnage of the teams roster - it would have to be close to 50%, with most of that being serious talent ....
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011Seems like BBox is heading for death.... such a shame considering the year that they have had. Also late in the season for the guys to find a good home as well
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011Astana look to be in trouble for 2011,
"The UCI has announced a list of ten cycling teams that can be sure of receiving a ProTour license in 2011. For the remaining eight places, ten teams have qualified, but Astana is not among them. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise as the team struggled to provide financial guarantees last year, and the lack of their Spanish superstar Alberto Contador likely only adds to the troubles." full link http://www.bikeworldnews.com/2010/10/06 ... se-astana/
Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011US United Healthcare team going Pro... continental. Has 3 Aussie cyclists.

Re: Protour teams under threat for 2011From cyclingnews ;
Seems that Clenbutador isn't Riis's only worry now - whilst the main 'owners of Saxo Bank are supporting Riis and Clenbutador, they may become an IT Factory sort of sponsor, as they are under Danish Investigation and trying to sell out of Saxo as a whole ..... all 3 of them ???? Very fishy indeed and must be making Riis worry a bit more ....
