Wanna have a go on a track in Brissie

Postby retro rider » Mon Feb 01, 2010 5:57 pm

I would love to have a go round a velodrome and also think I would be better at track riding to road as I am definately a sprinter. Although now that I am in my mid 40's have probably left my run for the Olympics a little late.

Do they ever have open days for newbies? Somewhere in the Brisbane area.

Thanks

Velodromes around Brisbane? Nerang, Caboolture, Ipswich and Chandler. Chandler is the nicest and has the most restrictive access. Most of the others you can ride at any time, Ipswich is never used for racing any more. Talk to Cycling Queensland (the racers) about opportunities for newbies to ride track, they'll be able to give you up-to-date information. http://www.qld.cycling.org.au/

Cycling Queensland are having a "track open day" on Sunday the 17th of October. Bring your pedals, shoes, helmet and CA license down to Chandler (or your closest velodrome). They will have bikes to try on.

Details are here.... http://www.qld.cycling.org.au/?ID=38986

See you there! :D
