With Cinelli Stem, 3ttt track drops, Mavic rims, Forumla hubs (rear one is fvcked), Sugino crankset, and everything else is kinda cheap-ish stuff.

You'll see it around Adelaide pretty much every Monday night.

Noooooice.

'New' as in 'new - old' I presume. Ron must be >80 by now. His son Dean still builds a few things now and again I believe.

Yeah, new to me. :) It's at least 30 years old.

I'd like to confirm with the Whitehorns whether it was built by Ron. The seller seemed to think it was (according to another source), but it's strange cause it's badged (well decal-ed) as a Malvern Star. The 5 stars on the front are just stickers too.

Looks good. You must be flexible to ride in the drops !!!!

What is the black tape in the middle of the top tube ?

I have a long torso, so riding in the drops isn't awkward. The tape is electrical tape over an old piece of tube. Stops the bars denting the top tube if they swing around and hit it. It's a much, much cheaper version of this.

I too, like the look of your new bike. It looks like it must fit you pretty well as all bike to body contact points appear nicely balanced.

I was told by the seller that it was a Ron Whitehorn frame. Thsi was then confirmed by another person who was admiring it locked up in the city on night. Also a friend of mine rides a Macini with EXACTLY the same lugs and similar geormetry, Macini was another Whitehorn frame.

It's 54cm square.

I'm about 180cm-ish something.

I think.
