I haven't been on a track bike for over a decade...so i'm a little nervous, but in a good way.

Due to the below avarage weather this day was called off. However, like me, heaps of people (almost all kids) turned up anyway and had some fun. The weather pretty much held off. Thanks to Bret and all involved for putting the day on. It's a small, but very enthusiastic crew at Warragul, and I'm looking forward to being involved as much as work permits. Now I'm looking forward to track season for the first time in 20 years.

Another open day on Saturday the 4th at Warragul Velodrome. Starts at 3:30pm and goes through till 6:00 or so when the club will have some presentations. Flyer attached - http://www.warragulcyclingclub.org.au/n ... ly_day.pdf There was also talk last night at training of having use of a radar "smiley face" to post speeds. I not sure if this is confirmed, but if so, it will be a good novelty. There are plenty of track bikes available on track so make the trip, meet some good people, watch some very good riders (and some who aren't so good ) and have some fun.

Good day at Warragul on Saturday.
Plenty of young folk and adults going around. Unfortunately one bloke uncliped and went over the bars. Speedy recovery to you.
Apart from that a great day (although I raced very badly).

Definately the highlight of the day. Brett Rowlinson got it up to 57kph on a small gear without really trying, that was the best for the day.

Well, it's on again this year. Where - Warragul Velodrome (Great all round outdoor velodrome) About an hour out of melbourne When - Sunday October the 23rd. From 10:00am to 1:00pm. What you need - Helmut, pedals and shoes. What will be there - Plenty of club track bikes in almost all sizes (including some for the smaller kids) Who to contact - Warragul Cycling club. It's about an hour from melbourne. Web site is http://www.warragulcyclingclub.org.au/index.html map - http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&sa ... a=N&tab=wl No doubt there will be a BBQ. This is a great group of people, some very experienced, and a great place to start track riding. Warragul itself is also a great place to visit. If you get there around 10:00am keep an eye out in the town for the regular bunch riders. On a good day there can be over 50 people in these groups.

Had a great day again. Heaps turned up and a few will have a try again. As an extra Daryl Perkins (Shanes Father) turned up with one of his athletes to do some training after we got off the track. It was good to watch Things continue to pick up for cycling in West Gippsland. 34 juniors and seniors turned up to training last night. Great to see.

Haha. Discovered this thread today.
After 10 hours in casualty and sticking to the sheets due to a leaky back, fainting and being put on a drip, I got sent home. My right shoulder has not been the same since. It seems I tore one of the ligaments so now and then the joint is really sore. Overall, besides a nasty looking pokey outy collar bone, all is well!
For those who are itnerested, we are track training Tues nights again. 6 om for the juniors and 7pm for the seniors.
Regards Paul

Hey Paul, that was a while ago mate. You are going o.k. again now though. Winning the odd race. Clint did a similar thing just before christmas. He is slowly getting back to it now.
