I am planning to build a HF rear wheel and this is about all I can find with a cassette freehub.
Is anybody here familiar enough with these hubs to know if it is viable to re-space to 130mm from 135mm.

There is a 5mm spacer in it, so it is technically possible, but doing so will create a wheel with more dish than a regular road wheel - so actually weaker than using a low flange road 32h hub.
Suzue, phil wood, other lower volume specialists etc are good places to look for hiflange hubs. They do exist.

Are you talking about removing the 5mm spacer from drive side or non-drive side ?
I was counting on leaving the top cog to chain stay spacing as is, and shortening the non-drive side - the drive side flange to OL spacing is the same as a road hub i expect....correct me ?.
I am prepared to grind/shorten cones if required and alter sealing arrangements if needed.

From the techdoc, doesn't seem like there is much of a chance to take out 5mm.
Are you trying to get a disc hub on the rear of a roadie (hence the 135 to 130mm requirement) ?
If you keep the DS side spacing constant, is maybe clearance and disc alignment going to be an issue ?
What about rim alignment in the frame ?

spacer is a little bigger on the 525 but yeah it isn't 5mm.

I don't care about the disc mounts and I am prepared to modify or remove them... they could be handy for other uses though.
I just want to reduce the LHS axle overhang.

Now that I am home, and both bikes are to hand, I have a pair of deore M525s disc hubs on my trek, and a Bontrager branded hub (select wheelset) on my Teschner. The gap between the left flange and the left dropout is the same on both bikes. As far as I can see, the deore hub is 5mm wider between the flanges, and thus you'd have a lot of dish on the wheel if the hub was shortened on the left side. That would reduce strength.
The flange diameter of my rear bontrager road wheel is the same as my M525s - ie low. The only one that would have a high flange is the pure 6 bolt variant. My hubs are center lock with 6 bolt adapters, and 6 bolt rotors blind bolted to them, original equipment on the bike. Whether thats some artifact of some old supply problem with center lock rotors or what you'll get in the box, I dunno.

I was expecting the RHS (drive side) flange to dropout dimension to be the same if having the same freehub (8,9 sp compatible), and any variation to be on the non-drive side ???The gap between the left flange and the left dropout is the same on both bikes. According to the Shimano 'Hub Spec.pdf' , the FH-M525 dimensions are
Model - FH-M525
Weight - 449g
Flange Diam - 61mm
Freehub - HG8/9S
OLD - 135mm
Cent to Fl L - 32.15mm
Cent to Fl R - 18.55mm
The figures add to Flange width 50.70mm - is this the hub that you have ?.

ah, yep, no its not the same. That hub is their most dished MTB hub - more dished than mine, and you'll move the center a further 2.5 right.

More investigation and it's looking like the FH-M529 might be the go for what I want.
The ratchet is said to be heavy duty and with quick action.
H-M529 rear hub dimensions...
Flange diameter - 70.6mm
Spoke hole diameter - 61mm
Flange distance - 57.1mm
Centre to left flange - 35.35
Centre to right flange - 21.75
With 5mm removed from LHS, I should get..
Centre to left flange - 32.85mm
Centre to right flange - 24.25mm
So, with an OC rim I should be able to get close to zero dishing which is what I want.
