Hey that is me. I haven't made it all the way down Beach Road yet, just from Brighton to Cafe Racer dans Mapei Team kit.Stovepipe wrote:#1. the 40something yr old who walks into a bike shop and drops 10 grand on the latest carbon roadie, fancy helmet, hi-tec bike computer, cycling protein bar s***, flamboyantly coloured skin tight lycra pro team kit, "aero" sunnies, and silly gloves, then shaves his legs so he can be super aerodynamic like the pros while he rides said products down beach rd every sunday.

I will have to build up a single speed and decorated it with said item. Should be available from Etsy very soon!
but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.

gonna have to give me a week or so. I bought a single speed kit from the tip yesterday (consisting of a dreadful Repco frame with stamped ends, 3 27" wheels, two tyres, a spare crank and a BMX cog) for the grand total of $20 that included a broken Apollo frame for some other bits. I will build the Pengy Homage when my BBB "fake track nuts" skewers show up.munga wrote:i'll buy one for jacksparrow. epic.
Then, I will rake in the millions with those top tube covers. epic doesn't cover it!

a fixie of hipsters
a pose of hipsters
a douche of hipsters
an annoyance of hipsters
an irony of hipsters
a meh of hipsters
an infestation of hipsters

I ride fixed but I'm 40 and barely have hair...I do sport a beard though.
Same p*ss take can be taken at the lycra, carbon fibre crowd just as easily couldn't it?

Bet the bike shops/industry hate the hiptsers coz most are thrifty, unlike the thousands spent by the scenesters
I'm in my mid thirties and just bought a fixie, although it has flip flop hub and i'm likely to use it free wheeling most of the time. I'll still use it fixed every now and then.
I bought it for some fitness and i loved the look of it.
I'd be riding a BMX if my body would allow it, but after years of abuse my knee's arent what they used to be! And i need my body for work.
And a MTB or any bike that can be easily jumped would be tempting me to much
I think everyone should be glad that the fixie crew are out riding instead of out driving ricers and v8's
