Nice going there Mountgower. A century and a half is a milestone enough to jump up n down about, but after the dramas you had, I reckon I'd be dancing a little jig as well!!!!!

That was a good ride this morning Dean :)

that loop isn't bad and it has some good sections to do interval work, imagine going up those slopes the other way round! i've done it a few times and at the end of the second hill i'm always breaking doctors orders about heart ranges /picks lungs up from the pavement.

Looking forward to next weekend mate , would you like to do the scarborough point run? , that is a really nice ride with the fresh ocean air and the road shoulders are very wide right through redcliffe. Ive got the rack on the truckie so if ya like ill drive into brizzy, park at toowong and can meet you somewhere in brizzy.

You are nuts !!!

I am looking forward to cvompleting the TdU, but at 134km, that's a bit short.

My ass says taht more than 4 hours in the saddle is too long.

But almost 7 is a huge effort !!!! Well done.

No falls today, thankfully. I don't want to contemplate falling off the Tommasini.
It appears I have spoken too soon.

Today, after recieving my 3TTT Motus quill stem, I set off on the usual south side bay loop. 80km in to the ride I was the victim of what can only be described as a total brain explosion. Over an issue which could only be described as insignificant a motorist decided to use his vehicle as a weapon cutting in front of me a slamming his brakes on. I was a passenger after that and whilst I reached for the brakes and swerved there was no options for me and I slammed in to the back of the car, going over the car and landing on the road beside the drivers door.

The loonatic then repeatedly starts opening the door into me as I try to get to my feet. He then gets out of the car and whilst I am still unbalanced throws a punch at me hitting and breaking the visor on my helmet. Then realising there is a number of cars stopped and watching his brain explosion, he gets in the car and drives off.

A witness stopped and concurs with my account of the episode, which is good. He also got the number plate details of the car. This loony is now wanted for his crime and police are confident as the car is registered to a leasing company who they feel will cooperate with them.

The Tommasini is no longer a collectors item, I'm afraid. The front wheel, forks, seat tube and down tube are no longer what they once were. A rear seat stay has cosmetic damage to the chrome also. I spoke to Mauricio from Panda today and he contacted Tommasini this afternoon as he already had to phone them. I will find out on Monday as to the availability of the Diamante tubes and head lugs.

Hopefully they are available. Until then I think I will stick to the trails. I have another road bike but am not feeling much like the road at the moment. It's seven years since the last time I was hit by a car and it's not until this year that I got up the courage to cycle alone on the road again. I have been absolutely overjoyed by being on the road again and riding the Tommasini.

Thems the breaks.

So, any news on what happened to this guy?

Kev.
