Protein Supplement Challenge
Postby europa » Tue Nov 27, 2007 11:25 am
The challenge starts NOW! That's, right, no waiting, no delay. Fresh insects by the mouthfull.
The rules.
You must be riding your pushbike when said intake occurs, not stationary, not hanging out the passenger window of the car.
While normal people ingest food through their mouth, it's okay (but icky) if you use your nose.
You will receive ONE POINT for an insect that goes in but which you manage to eject.
You will receive TWO POINTS if you can't gag the rotten thing out again ie, you swallow it or it becomes wedded to your tonsils.
Although this thread was conceived with the idea of insects in mind, if you manage to swallow a pigeon, we'll give you TEN POINTS. Bird dung and other non-living ingestions will receive no points but we may feel moved to commiserate ... or laugh.
So go for it.
Who's going to be first on the board?
Who will take the Yellow Jersey?
Who will put themselves in hospital in an insane attempt to catch the leaders?
Official Start of Competition: Tuesday 27 November 2007
Official End of Competition: When we decide to, but June 30 sounds good , unless we make it a calender year comp.

If we'd started Friday, my score to date would be:
Friday - 1xejected, 1xconsumed = 3 points
Saturday - 4xejected, 2xconsumed = 8 points
Sunday - 3xejected, 1xconsumed = 5 points
Long days on the bike, low speed, plenty of breathing through my mouth up climbs.
We were having a similar competition across our two bunches and I was in third place on Saturday night - we didn't bother to compare notes at the end of Sunday.
Alchemy Diablo - Columbus Zonal tubing, Ultegra 9-speed groupset, UltraGatorskins
Gitane Rocks T1 - U6 tubing, Deore/XT groupset, CrossMarks

A nice polite cough whilst taking my turn, a subtle veer to the right, an almighty dry heave to remove the offending protein supplement, a swig of water and then hook on the end like nothing had happened.
Shhhhhhhhhhhh _ It's a secret

I'm not going to count the one that hit my nose and fell down to bounce off my bottom lip seeing it didn't actually go in.

Always carry a full drink bottle. The critters are easier to wash down than to swallow ....
