I can say with authority that landing on one's clacker on the saddle doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as landing on one's clacker on the top tube. I did this once when I stopped midway up a steep hill to catch my breath. I was in the easiest gear. When I set off to start the climb again, I put as much force as I could into turning the crank. Of course, the bike was in super-easy gear and the pedal turned much easier than expected. I fell straight onto the top tube and saw stars. I also very nearly clipstacked as a result.

You have a good point, however I read somewhere that the only pain worse than (err how do I say this nicely....) testicular trauma is childbirth.Missy24 wrote:How would you know what is worse? From most discussions when this comparison has been raised both the males and the females tend to agree...

4WDs have a bull-bar. My bike has a similar device, runs from the head tube to the seat tube. It's called a "ball-bar".
