That too!! Maybe they didn't realise the road was closed?? *shrugs* Mates & I waited at the top for a few minutes so that we could have a clear run down and not get caught up as we wanted to hit it reasonably quick. It is a pity it's over so short tho haha, hugging the inner guard rail on the right handers was an adrenalin rush & a half..

LOL

I was looking at that series of shots of me, when Mrs davidk walked into the room. She asked why I was so close behind that young female rider - I had to think fast.
" Its called DRAFTING, getting a benefit from slipstreaming "

The fact that we were all plodding up the hill with absolutely no drafting benefit will NOT be mentioned to Mrs davidk. :D
(Must be careful who I ride behind for future ride photos :-) )

Actually, looking at those series of photos, the guy in front, and the guy on my left seem to be having a hard time of it climbing that rise, and the young female rider and I seem to be making mince meat of the climb :-)

Here's me in the red top making my way up Silver Sands, great day out.

Rode from Bridgewater to start, did the 60 odd kms back to McLaren Vale and then home through Kangarilla, Clarendon (beautiful climb up out of there if anyone else knows where I mean) to Ironbank and Stirling to home.

The run along the beach was nice except for that wind - give me a hill anyday. Just over 140kms all up and pretty tired at the end of it, not sure what it was like last year but good to see the road nice and smooth through Old Noarlunga, I remember it being really rough a couple of years ago.

Great to see so many cyclists out and about and going along the Expressway is worth the entry fee alone

(not to sure if I'll be buying any pics of myself with a boy devil though?

They say it's been improved and logistically I'm sure it's a nightmare but Epsom Road Studios website isn't the quickest or easiest website to navigate/find images on so finding one pic is a feat in itself (always helps when you are wearing a completely different coloured top to everyone else.

I took 'outside lines' the whole way down, but I was more frightened of the the down hill heros being erratic around me.

What was the point of having Red Aware printed on the jerseys when the majority of cyclists don't stop for red lights? Was Big Brother trying to do his subliminal bit?

I thought that too, maybe its to teach new cyclists or unaware cyclists that we shouldn't be running red lights? Maybe it says WE who are wearing them stop at lights?

Who knows...

Whilst I was riding the 'Amy' I was thinking how we could easily identify each other during the ride as BNA Forum members, coz remembering a bunch of rider numbers doesnt work for those old enough to suffer short term memory loss under stress :-)

Given that the rider ID numbers dont seem to be officially checked on the day, perhaps we could all wear our numbers upside down :-)
Or perhaps BNA might be able to provide big blue BNA stickers we can put on the Rider ID cards

Any other ideas?

I had more problems keeping the thing slow enough on the expressway..... it just keeps getting faster above 35kph, and you have a real time in keeping it in check while in the draft...

the GF's bike is the mountain goat!!! it whips up willunga very very quickly... she passed some big unit's on the way up with that  look!!

yep!!

The secret to making sure a GF wants to ride is buying a bike that makes life easy!!!

plus then just add bling for good measure!!!

nothing will turn someone off faster than getting bad fitting hand-me-down bikes....

oh and Assos everything else for good measure! ( Including the custom tailored Amy's jersey due to only M left... nothing a sewing machine can't fix eh! )

come on people post your pics!!!! :P :P

Save the photo you your computer(from the website) and upload it to a image hosting site

The easiest way is to copy the image location(by right clicking the photo through firefox)

Finally worked out my time up Willunga Hill from the Garmin data (didn't actually do a lap for the climb  ), but it worked out at 15:30 which I was pretty pleased with.

Like I said before, I didn't get passed, and I passed lots so that was good for me :D
