hey guys im new to the fixie trade...in fact im not even new cause I dont even have one...i came across this decent lookin fixie from afar as the pictures were too small and blurry but even judgin from these...it looks new-ish..but it is very peculiar as it is only going for 22.00 dollars AUS dollars...i was wondering if anyone could tell the untrained fella here what the problem is with the bicycle...or whether its just a really good deal on ebay

But you can't go wrong making a bid. The handlebars are worth that much.

Ask them if they can e-mail you some higher res pics or something, but otherwise file this one in "Maybe" section.

Ditto for previous remarks about "current price" etc.

Regardless of how much you want to catch the Fixie wave - you'll save a LOT of dosh if you bide your time and do your homework.

thanks...yeah i asked for some pictures but there has been no reply..but judging from these bad quality ones it looks decent...and im just thinking what could possibly be wrong with the chain and frame and etc and if its a meet up to pick up, it cant be that much of a dodgy deal? can it?

nai...had a serious geez at the purchase...realised it was a dodgy seller. glad i didnt buy it! looking at another one...its pretty straight and gnarly...but its definitely up for grabs!!

when will i ever get one!!! going to check out this second hand garage at waterloo (sydney) hopefully can start off with a vintage frame and get some colour going!

why buy a ready made fixie, just get yourself an old roadie and put different wheels on it and its going to alot cheaper

Absolutely right. Usually conversions sell for much higher then they were actually made for as well (eg. Like this one). It's alot more satisfying to build your own Fixie up from scratch or from a conversion then it is to buy it pre-made. This way you can choose any colour and component you would like rather then having your colours chosen for you.

That bike looks as if it has a gnarly dent in the top tube, hence the small pics I reckon.
Plus he has 96.2% positive feedback, thats a fail in ebay world.
Lucky you didn't buy it.
It went for too much anyway.

hey guys

so i want to get started with fixies, but the purchasing the right frame is doing my head in...Im after a 54cm fixie frame. but ive seen some frames with the wheels being really far from the frame like the vintage road bicycles, but i dont know whether its just the size of the frame (as i cant tell from just pictures). But i want a set up fixie that has 700c wheels and really close to the frame like this one for example....

the vivalo is a track frame, not a road frame with a track wheelset.
note the fork crown to tyre clearance, the shape of the fork legs (round, not ovalised), the steeper headtube angle..
unlikely to find a real track frame under $200.
