Appreciate any thoughts on the bike.

it's around the $2k mark. What other options do you suggest?Richard.L wrote:how much does it cost cause there could be quite a lot of options for the 2k+ mark

The more popular brands for around 2k are Giant (Omnium) , Felt (Tk2) and maybe Avanti (Pista Pro) but nothing wrong with the Jamis (brand name wheels and aero seat post)

That's what I've discussed with others. The wheels are very good quality and I've seen some excellent riders (Open place getters) on the Jamis brand.Richard.L wrote:Bike exchange gives you a few rough prices

I changed my mind. I now am the proud owner of a Basso track frame complete with Campagnolo Pista Wheels. I got it without cranks and pedals for $1,400, which I'm happy about. From what I can tell the framesets sell overseas for around $2,200 and the wheels are around $850 the pair on Wiggle. So the price seems very good. It's the first Italian bike I have ever owned and now feel the need to wear a Campag' cap and decree that bikes should be Italian or nothing at all.
It is Yellow.
The bottom bracket is Campagnolo Record so I'll get a set of Record cranks for it and use my existing Keywin pedals.
Photos will be posted when finished.

I'm looking forward to racing on Friday night under lights, I hope the weather holds up. If they chuck me in "A" grade there I will feel the pain no doubt.
I'm going to fit 170mm cranks.

Hows it go? The only problem with it is, you can't hide or be discreet in the bunch with that colour.
Look out here comes that mongrel again, to inflict pain on us.
