Hi all,
My 2009 Orbea Tenere mountain bike was also stolen today (Sunday, 19 September) between 1pm & 5pm from a footpath bike rack opposite the holmes institute on Spring st near Little Bourke st in Melbourne CBD.
Here is a link to a picture of the bike model -

My bike was 1 year old and I had removed the orange plastic from the back of the seat.
If you saw anything or come across my bike, please contact the Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000, Victoria Police Reference Number: LEDR1042621
Many thanks.

Hi lachi
I found my bike (stolen from melbourne CBD on the same day as you) at Cash Converters on Elizabeth St opposite the Vic markets. I would call and ask if I was you.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same person.
Cheers

Hi Squid,
Thanks for the tip. I called Cash Converters but they said that they did not have any bikes there matching mine... will keep an eye out.
Glad to hear you got your bike back.
cheers,
lachi.

Calling them and asking for a particular stolen bike isn't always a good idea - if they do have it they might just decide to hide it, send it to another store miles away or better yet just tell you they don't have it and hope you don't come and check in person.

i highly doubt that.. selling stolen goods is just a big an offence as stealing them. a company like cash converters doesn't need to do that sort of thing, it would damage their reputation, a pawn shop however might try something like that
