So I missed all the ho-har in the other Fly -V thread. I have no idea WT? is going on? This is supposedly the biggest, best bike forum in Australia Yet we cant mention Mr Whites name or the potential imploding of a team alot of us were really looking forward to following. Im pretty sure I have seen other people in the sport being talked about and ridiculed. Take Mr Landis, speculating about him and his motives seems to be fair game? For whatever reason that is not "deemed as defamation"? So, whats the real story? Why the overeaction in this case? And dont try on the if you dont like the rules you can go elsewhere mony balony. Yes it is your bat and ball and you can do whatever you like with it, just dont treat the members like your petulant children. I am pissed off with Mr White's attitude, the way he has been using the free publicity generated in part by fans like us. I get the feeling he has been counting on it to attract the $$$. If you want to lock or moderate this thread, please have the decency to let us know where we can talk about this issue.

Well if you don't know what happened in the other thread, then you have no idea why it was locked and thus your comment about being treated like a petulant child makes you look... Petulant? wah wah. a thread I know nothing about got locked. It shouldnt have. wah wah.. you over-reacted wah wah.

Looks like Fly V have failed to gain registration as a Continental team, which I understood they held last season. http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/12/ ... ers_153023 So not only were Pegasus unsuccessful in attaining ProTeam or Pro Continental status, they were also unsuccessful in maintaining Fly V's position as a Continental team.....unless I'm missing something! cheers Mark

EPIC fail if it's true - pretty sad tho that a country like Australia can't get someone like Frank Lowy of Lindsay Fox on board. It's really unprofessional if it does in fact turn up to go belly up and unlike anything thing else in Australia's sporting endevours as far as setting up a new team etc. As soon as I saw George Gillett's name as an 'interested party' it was cause for concern. Anyone who follows football will know what him and Tom Hicks did to Liverpool FC, eventually they were forced to sell the club to a new venture (NESV).

Yes, thats right I have no idea why it was locked. Thats what the "I have no idea WT? is going on" bit was about. It was not a thread I knew nothing about, that was an older thread that I have been following since it started. I saw it on cycling news, so I was annoyed to start with. Then came here to talk about it and found the fly-V thread locked, for no apparent reason[to me] which annoyed me again. You say I overreacted but maybe I reacted to an overreaction I guess I am as thinned skinned as you are Hannos JV: Yep

Anyone heard the latest reports in the last hour or so that White has secured the funding needed? State funds but who from?

He allegedly has a bank guarantee from 'someone' that is not Australian - and the UCI still have to approve his application. Does anyone remember the Linda McCartney cycling team?

Have to agree with Hannos, but let's cut to the chase. Let's keep this thread going and let's keep it informative and fair. If it crosses the line in which I (as admin) maybe approached and held accountable or responsible for comments / accusations made then that's the end of it. That's the short version. The place to discuss mod decisions and forum policy is the forum feedback section.

According to Cycling News, White said:
"It was a funding gap that appeared at the last minute and there was a subtraction of support that came at an untimely point in our overall process and it meant that we went from being funded to being unfunded and having inadequate time to deal with it before the December deadline.â€
He could at least have the decency to talk in English!

Hi Getting back on topic again SBS Cycling Central is reporting ,,, Refuting breaking reports that Pegasus Sports has found a new sponsor to save the company from a seemingly do-or-die situation, CEO Chris White has told Cycling Central that the funds to secure the bank guarantee required by the UCI has been derived from “one of our existing sponsors upping their commitmentâ€.
“[The sponsor] has come from within the family,†said White but cautioned, “This is not the time to put the cherry on top here yet.â€
