Whoopsie, forgot the link :o

http://www.capitalpunishmentmtb.com.au/
What Is It?

Capital Punishment is a 50km and 100km mountain bike enduro.

The Capital Punishment course will take in the best of the Canberra single tracks including Kowen Forest, Majura Pines, Black Mountain and Mt Stromlo. These famous single tracks will be linked via fire trails with only the minimum necessary bitumen. Note that for the 2011 event, Sparrow Hill is unlikely to be included. We are hoping this area will be available again in 2012.

Was thinking about it, but my riding of late has been very patchy. If I get my act together in the next two months I might look at the 50km.

I'm not too sure I'd even finish if I joined. Tempting though. I think deadline is jan 25. anytime after that theres a 20$ extra late fee. I'll have to see how I go closer to the date. Wouldnt want to pay the entry fee to not finish lol

MTB events usually sell out so fast I didn't think there would be any spots left for this. Maybe last years attrocious weather have put people off this event.

Anyway...signed up for the 50km.

My partner & I are in, headed for the 50klm event. We get a fair bit of road riding in but usually only a casual Sunday arvo of MTB around Stromlo... so this should be a laughable attempt at least...

LoveB - did you want to meet up for a couple of training rides one Sunday?

If I end up joining I'll be down for that..

For now I may just stick to my pathetic daily attempts at getting around stromlo lol

Yeah, my partner and I took up the challenge, had some great training leading up to it... NOT... hahaha, off the road bike for 3 weeks with a dodgy knee and squeezed in one proper MTB ride for it...

Was a great day though, finished up around 2:45 - would definitely do this one again!
