I bought a Bianchi in 94ish similar to that lovely green one ( off one of the apprentices wherei worked ( he bought it in Adelaide - and his name was Bianchi ....)
I still have my MTBthat my still girlfriend bought me .....argh thats nearly 20 years ago (1989) it gonna get a resto of sorts shortly , needs some wheels and a repaint ....if I can find the photo I'll post it . ( when it was new )
Its from Cyclesport at Thornleigh NSW .
Gary, I have an idea.
How would you feel about having a pic of your Aussie built bikes along the same lines as you have for your Italian display, or if your lense isnt quite wide enough perhaps you could break it up into states?
In the 90's Bianchi's were again bought into Aust. by a bloke who was a grandson or great grandson of Edoardo Bianchi. He lived in Queensland at the time. The rumour getting around was that he was a bit unreliable and eventually he stopped importing the bikes. I wonder if there is any connection?
Look forward to the MTB photo's as you do it up.
The Bianchi is a 1982 Campione del Mondo model. A mid-range Bianchi that is from an era when Piaggio (Vespa motor scooters) owned Bianchi. This Bianchi era is easy to date - you can even identify which 2 week period of the year the frame was made. Mine was made within the first two weeks of 1982.
