Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011Are any of the events being televised or streamed online? I've searched the TV guides and Googled online but haven't had any luck so far.

Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
No live coverage Cycling Central is doing a highlights package for their TV show (SBS), which should be shown on next Sundays show.
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
The world championships are over - they don't seem to be that interested in cycling anymore

Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
Congrats to everyone who managed to finish the course - 55 out of 116 starters in the U23 men, and 45 out 78 women did not finish the course. There was a crash 50 metres into the womens race

Magnificent performance from Dyball ![]() Wonder what doors this might open for him ![]() FPR Ragamuffin
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
Can someone please explain why Alexis Rhodes (Garmin/Cervelo) rode an un-disguised Specialized bike to win the title? I'm sure her new employers are going to be really impressed by that one - not! It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
Possibly because she hasn't received her bike yet - Im sure her team were well aware. Tonight she is heading off overseas to the team training camp, I am sure her new bike will be waiting for her when she gets there. Same as Robbie McEwan hasn't received his RadioShack clothing kit, and had to go buy one from a bike shop due to shipping problems (hence why he is wearing last years kit, not the new 2011 RS kit) Last edited by Drunkmonkey on Sun Jan 09, 2011 2:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011The men's race has just finished - unoffical results are:
1st Jack Bobridge 2nd Matt Goss 3rd Simon Gerrans
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
Yeah, but surely as a Pro rider she should have the nous to cover all references to her sponsors direct competitor with black/white electrical tape? It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011Its probably her personal bike?
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
you should write her an angry letter.
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
He should send Taylor Phinney the same letter. Full pic here: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- ... 9834_n.jpg ![]()
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011Apart from the much heralded ride by Bobridge, for mine the ride in the mens' RR was by Lachie Norris a young MTBer vying for the single spot for London 2012. I'm sure one or two of the DSs will take notice. I was told by his mentor last week he was on form and to be in the top 5 was a class ride. Self possessed and unassuming, this guy will go places.
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
I think Cervelo will have already done that for me It's a bit warmer here than Scotland isn't it!
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011Can't see official results yet but my mate Ryan is telling me his wife Tarryn Heather has 2nd in the elite womens tt by 3 seconds. Don't know if that is progress or final result. She is in our club, not a bad effort from D grade 18 months ago
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011Time Trial results from today
Women 1.Shara Gillow (38.18) 2.Taryn Heather 3.Ruth Corset Elite men 1.Cameron Meyer (47.11) 2.Jack Bobridge (47.24) 3.Michael Matthews (47.32)
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011
She has second in the bag - great effort, her hard work has paid off.
Re: Australian Open Road Championships 2011Durbridge in the U23 mens and Cam Meyer takes the Elite mens again, only 13 sec ahead of Bobridge.
Damn fine job by all the SA participants !!!
