Tell me thought to some of those out the front, are you just getting in more riding because you are on holidays or something? At this rate you'll break the 10k by June

Go back to work on Monday so I will probably drop to about 220 klm per week.

Well we've actually been able to disembark from the ark up here - at least for the moment anyway. I've been told work don't want me as they haven't got anywhere for me to go so I'll be trying to make up a bit of ground up here.

I'm finally starting to make some progress again now that the weather is getting better. I won't be commuting regularly though for a few weeks as I've got no workplace to go to due to the floods, but I'll try and keep some pressure on you guys out the front. Hopefully in Feb I'll really start to put some pressure on.

Off topic for a second, does that mean your off work due to the floods... Far out, will your work cover it's employees whilst being out...Comedian wrote:Yeah well if he keeps this up he should have joined the 20k clubChuck wrote:mjd has solo'd off the frontLivetoride wrote:Puts iaintas in the targets and starts the chase

No I'm not off work anymore. My building was flooded in the basement, but the power infrastructure was destroyed by the water so they are saying it could be another 3 weeks before it is habitable. There are also another few buildings in the CBD that are still off line too and my employer has staff in some of these. So they have to find 2 or 3 buildings worth of accommodation within their existing properties, which of course they can't to. From my area alone we've got like 30 people jammed into a conference room but last I heard we didn't have enough IP addresses for all the computers.. it's a total mess.Livetoride wrote:

So I volunteered to telecommute which I'm set up for. So I'll do that and just pop in as required until something is sorted.
So to how that will impact my riding... I've pretty much lost 125k of commuting a week which I consider my bread and butter. I've still got my normal rides on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday which account for about 200 ish k's but I've got some making up to do for the lost time so far this month. Also, the weather isn't the best up here so it's hard to know from day to day what I will be able to do.
So no, I can't just ride all day and I can't see me managing 1000k like I did in December

Jasus mate that's harsh, 3 weeks to fix it all, it's hard to get your head around it. Good luck to you and your work mates BroComedian wrote:No I'm not off work anymore. You should have joined the 3K club, the way you are going
That bike is not just so you can admire how good it looks. You actually have to ride it occasionally mate!
