My wife won't let me...no I can't use that one.

Tomorrow is back to school day and it is my youngest son's first day at a new school. He asked me to catch the train with him.

I'm still not commuting due to road conditions. I'm going to do a recce this weekend and see if conditions have improved since the council cleanup.

It's interesting you say that. I've had a few quite fast rides of late and my legs weren't the best. I took a super gentle 15k ride along KBB this morning. Average HR 110. I think they actually feel better for it. :)

I had a good excuse this morning, my bike has a buckled back wheel caused when chasing a good average speed. :(
But I forgot to use it and pinched the wife's hybrid to ride to work.

Yay! The roads to work are rideable! :D

But.. boo! I hurt my back on the ride today and will be off the bike for a few days until it heals. :(

Last day of my lengthy holiday (after accummulating annual leave as didn't take any 2 years straight). Took the sprog back to school for his first day :( . They grow up so fast.

Took the machine out for a ride last night after spending a couple of weeks at the LBS. Still not resolved the internal hub issue. It will have to be a "one weekend in the future" job. Ride last night felt good but the humidity this week is going to be a killer. A later evening commute is beckoning and with the daylight still around, it shouldn't be too bad.

I have new panniers to try out so have stored the Brooks for now. Something to look forward to. Hope they have fixed the car park as the workmen late last year were using the women's changing room and leaving general messiness in the toilets (don't they know how to flush? not to do #1s on the floor?) *shudders*

So back to commuting again tomorrow. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Even though the weather this morning was conducive to cycle commuting, I didn't particularly feel like a 2 hr commute home in 39 degree temperatures.

So i sat alone in my air conditioned parking lot ;)

I hit stop instead of snooze on my alarm this morning :x

LOL that'll get ya, won't it. If I hit snooze even once on a commute day, that's it, I can kiss my ride goodbye. I envy your snooze-amenable schedule :D

Well, I'll soon be out of excuses. I checked out the roads to work over the weekend and they are finally navigable. The council also cleaned up the Glass Gauntlet as part of their overall flood cleanup. Happy days! This morning, I finally, finally got my Crud Road Racer 2 mudguards fitted onto my road bike. Don't believe the marketing. It won't take you five minutes to do. It will take you five days of cursing, adjusting, tweaking, fiddling, cursing, tweaking, cursing, adjusting, cursing, tweaking, cursing, fiddling and more cursing. Don't forget the cursing. It's an important part of the ritual. I have just one last fairing to install, which hopefully won't affect the overall fit of the mudguard, and I'll be good to go. And my back and knee are feeling better too, so all things being well, I'll be riding to work tomorrow!

:D

That looks nasty.

I spent 5 months off the bike after doing this.

And then it took me another 3 or so months to be able to do any sort of decent distance again.

Tried to put a right side pedal on the left side crank using 1% brain and 99% brawn.

Obviously destroyed the crank, bike in shop for few days for new part.

Lesson learnt, hottest freaking days for train.... sucks to be me.

New bike still not here over 2 weeks late.

I'm having a tantrum and refusing to ride either of my other perfectly good bikes!
