Thats quick!Australia's Jack Bobridge has broken Chris Boardman's 4000m individual pursuit world record of 4:11.114 today on Sydney's Dunc Gray Velodrome at the nation's elite track championships.
Bobridge had previously held the fastest 'non-superman' individual pursuit time - set during last year's Australian National Track Championships - but after stopping the clock at 4.10.534 this afternoon he now holds the fastest mark ever.

What amazes me is that he can do rides like that on the track which I would have thought would be a rather specialised, but can also pull out road rides like he did at the aussie road champs. Crazy stuff!

yes he was on the track, he still averaged 12km/h average faster than Brodie's speed on Sunday over nearly the same distance......

Brit Boardman said once the event was removed from the 2012 Olympic programme, so did the interest of British cyclists in it
"His time is quite amazing. A lot of people never thought it would happen," he told the BBC.
"But if it was an Olympic discipline, we would have (two-time Olympic champion in the event) Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and some other young lads focusing on this.
"As soon as it was taken out of the Olympics, our national team - very much Olympic-focused - absolutely stopped thinking about it completely.
"That competition ended.
"The Australians still hold it in high esteem, which is nice to see, and they've stuck with it.
"But the term that's been used for the British in the past is 'passionately ruthless' - our performance programme is funded to chase Olympic gold medals, period.
"If this doesn't count then why am I expending energy on it?
"It's a nice-to-have but ultimately it isn't the job."
