If the weather is doing your head in, vent away! I'm glad i got my first 500km month in before this weekend. Right now BOM reports wind gusts at Yeppoon +50km/hr and wind speed of 33km/hr, it will blow a dog off the chain. Nice day otherwise, but not for long - cyclones coming x2 just what we need here, more water cheers Mick

Ahhh, Mick, sorry to hear it Batten down the hatches mate. I hope the folks up North don't get beaten down by that cyclone. Max

Mick... just HTFU and get a spinnaker. Get the wife to pick you up in Emerald and you might make 1000k for the month. Seriously, I hope you are all alright up there and don't get too wet with this cyclone.

The winds down here this weekend has made cycling difficult....if that big cyclone blows in we're all going to get it! I'm 24k's off 500 for the month, planning on getting it knocked off tomorrow morning, if the weather cooperates!!!

Brisbane weather today is vile, because of extreme humidity. An interesting demonstration of biology and science, whilst in motion it feels tolerable but as soon as you stop sweat starts running like a leaky tap and core temperature rises. Not nice.

For the first time ever I actually wanted it to rain this morning to cool things down! Of course it did start...as soon as I'd pulled up in my driveway! The 30 k's felt like double that!

Not that I'm in Brisbane...but I see the apparent temp of Brisbane at 4pm was just under 36 due to the humidity Even Condamine was oppressively humid today and it's quite a way inland.

I am stuck in Japan. Not much riding for me!
It is also single digits and raining in Hiroshima lately. CBF'd hiring a bike in that weather!

So what's the skiing like ? Think of it as cross-training for mountain-biking.

Haven't got there yet. Still sight seeing through the eastern seaboard. So many bicycles here, some super nice, some pretty average!
Skiing will be awesome. It is going to snow tonight in Hiroshima, and we are 700km south of the ski field we are going to! The field is getting 25 - 30cm every second or third night!

Yes i think it was a scorcher weekend, i was on the Gold Coast near the ocean for most of it. 31 degrees and humid at Main Beach, which usually means 34 degrees and even more humid inland. In terms of human physical comfort that is a lot of difference

Just think of it as a contingency plan. If your vehicle breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you can pedal to somewhere for help !

This weather is driving me nuts! It's like Singapore. I went on a shop ride this morning and didn't get rained on as such, but the wet roads were enough that my clean bike is now filthy and my clothes and shoes are all wet

I fooled the weather gods today, decided to ride the mudguarded fixie in instead of the backup commuter and now we have rain all day, so it will be a pleasant ride home. now will the gods be fooled tomorrow?

Maybe we should lobby to change the name of our soggy city to Brisapore or Singbane ?There must be some serious water-release occuring from Wivenhoe at the moment. The river was fractionally over the coro bikeway near the underpass to Lang Parade this morning

I think the best we all can do is accept that you may get wet anytime on the bike from now until April / May - according to the long range weather forecasts. For me, I just wonder whether I will get wet at the start or end of my ride. (I know the spray off the front wheel of my MTB gives me a good soaking even after it has rained. The mountain bike has the added advantage of allowing me to take deeper puddles of water at speed, which is more enjoyable if someone is on my tail. )
