Hmmm, not sure how a build thread degenerated into criticism of a price a member was trying to get for his scoot.
As is always the case, something second hand is worth exactly what a prospective owner is willing to pay.
Seen some of the buy it nows on ebay? No waay most of us would pay it but not everybody wants to do the work of creation themself and are happy to pay for someone else to do it.
At least this unit doesn't have bent back forks or a stick welded seatpost.

I wouldn't. If I wanted a prebuilt FG I woulda got something off the peg.
I've got me own project slowly reaching maturity, woulda been done a few months back if I could build wheels to a standard I'm happy with.
I don't want to think of the hours or dollars I've put into it. I definitely could have bought new from a medium level maker for less overall but that's not why I started the project.

At least this is a one-off sale. There are businesses on ebay selling junk for way too much money on a daily basis. These businesses capitalise on the fact that their buyers are obviously uneducated about their product, and are buying purely on emotion. Ethics goes out the window in that scenario. How much does that concern you?

She ended up paying 450 for it.
I thought it was a little steep but he is super happy with it.
Yea he did an I have a Nishiki as well an mine was de badges when I for it so I was hoping to find one for it.

yea unfortunately he wouldnt go any lower which sucks but its working alright for her as she doesnt do any skids and she is super light so the bike doesnt get a beating.
she is actually my missus and im hoping to get it re painted for her cause the paint is getting a bit dinged up.
anyone know of a good place to get it powdercoated or painted in perth?

cheaper option would be better =D
