sweeping of the bike lane from devils elbow to crafers???

Postby williamsf1 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 1:13 am

Is it just me or does this path get a massive amount of use, but very little maintenance???

I am finding that the road is safer and cleaner now days than the sectioned off path!!!

( a lot of ceramic plates still smashed up there.... )

Noticed on the ride up yesterday that the road was swept, but not the bike track

Even the odd tree brach. Didn't see any plates though.

At least the down track is good once you get below the Bollards :P

Have a crash show the local council pic of your trashed bike and injuries and you can bet a road crew will be up there with a leaf blower weekly to do what they do once a month. I dont think the big street sweepers can get in the bike path and they wont be spending big bucks to buy a big vacuum to clean a bike path. That or wait for the next big rain and get up there with a stiff broom and go crazy

going up it in the AM again.... lets hope I see some changes!!!

I noted 2 days ago that the ROAD had been nicely swept.... as you could see the track marks from the truck, but no such luck for the part that sees far more use these days!!!

I have this image of a cyclist on a 17k bike with a broom on his back heading up towards the freeway...

Can you get carbon fibre brooms?
