Well I'm out. Got doored at 30kph today and wrote off my bmc. Also busted a finger and needed some stitches. Wounds are no big deal but the bike is rooted (multiple frame cracks) and insurance claim will no doubt take ages.

GL to all riding.
Sorry to hear that mate, hope the insurance claim goes well for you and the wounds heal quickly.

Bugger indeed nutsack. Glad to hear though that you were pretty lucky and suffered minor wounds. Could have ended up like your bike

Hope you recover quick and that the driver gets what is deserved.

Had a very close call with a bus last night on my ride, and will be reporting it this morning.

Seaview rd Tennyson, the nice quiet one way rd servicing millionaires row parallel to military road. Taxi was there picking up clients.

I'm having crazy thoughts of buying a replacement bike in time for coast to coast while waiting for the insurance claim.

Modbury to Glenelg to Victa to Modbury seems like a bit too much of a ride to me So its Glenelg to Victa and a bus ride to Glenelg for me.

Looking forward to this ride - have done 2 x Amy's rides & 1 x Ride Like Crazy, with av. speeds around 25 - 27km/h :) . Not wanting to sound desparate, but I would really like to join a small group (6 - 12) of similar ability, to enhance the social aspect of the ride. It just starts to seem a bit pointless getting to the end of 4 - 5 hrs of hard slog and not having anyone to share it with :( . I'm quite familiar with group riding etiquet, but my regular group are not able to make this ride. I'll eventually be picked up by family at VH.
Please send me a PM if able to accomodate 8) .

Thanks - Colin :D

Now: Avanti Monza (to keep up with Pinarello riders), Shogun Metro (+ tag-along)
B4: Phillips Multi-track (really bad, but got me back into riding)

I am not out of it yet. My body has come up great, did some spin bike on the weekend and the back and legs are fine. The broken finger wont stop me.

Going to try and put an alloy frame bmc sl01 together from some spare parts from the garage in time for Sunday!

As tim on skin said I was looking for someone to ride with from Stirling and was catching the bus back home. Your pace would be about right for me a lot of down hills. was looking to finish in just under 4 hours?. Let me know where you are starting from.

Looks nasty nutsack, good that you are riding. The weather forecast is for moderate north easterlies so it should be a great ride. Can't wait.

I just got my speed plays fitted yesterday night so If you see a blue and black orbea onix rider having trouble clipping in give me a bit of space :D . Great things for my knees but a real challenge when new to clip into when new. Still great weather and looking foward to it.

Awesome day today :D

Slightly less challenging than the MCCT but 10 times more enjoyable. Finished up in 4hrs 7mins at 28.75kph average.

Perfect weather, loved the police escort up cross road, wish I could ride on the freeway up to devils elbow everytime, Adelaide Hills were stunning, tail wind through Kuitpo was awesome (drove hard on that section ), just as good through to Myponga(ish) and felt strong up the last climb and into the finish.

Apart from the great weather and even better course/scenery I think what made the ride so enjoyable was the perfect number of riders, with 2000 odd its enough to form some good groups and enjoy that but not too many to make drink/food stops and the finish a nightmare. I also think the finish at Victor is a bit nicer than Amy's ride as the McLaren Vale Visitors Centre can be a bit of a dust bowl.

The only one I haven't done now, which seems to get the biggest wraps, is Ride Like Crazy so hopefully next year I can add that one to the palmarès.
