Dropped into the Trek store today, and the first official store ride according to Charles is this Saturday. It is my understanding that there are still 2 groups, official ride time is 0630.
Isaac No longer works at the store,He has had a career change, Charles is now in charge of the shop.Tim
edit, Have not seen you for a while Sli(Stu), see you have been up north, be good to catch you for a chat:)

that makes sense Tim. I guess I should just continue and do another 20km before I stop. Or pull my finger out and get up early enough to ride to the ride - that would add another 25km each way for me.... Will see how I go when I get back.TimW wrote:Yeah it's time limited so the shop guys can open up in time, i would prefer longer as well, it's part of my normal ride but i ride a lot further when i am by myself,Pleasant ride thought, the wife went out after i got home and she did the m7 cycleway, she came home all hot and bothered and jumped straight into the pool, glad i went out early.Tim
I'm doing the M7 cycleway tomorrow, hope it's a lot cooler than today

Sorry I didn't get a chance for a chat this morning Tim. I missed out before and during the ride and then wanted to add a few more k's (just like you and Russ) before stopping (and coffee). Ended up adding an extra 15km with Aaron just riding easy up to the Norwest Private Hospital and back home.
Can anyone join you tomorrow Russ?
Cheers,
Stuart.

I aim to be at the Woodstock Road overpass (at RootyHill) about 645am heading south to Eliz Dr to meet Domenic. Ride with him up to Norwest and if I have the stamina, back down to Prestons for a break at the Maccas, before doing the 33km north back home from Prestons. I guess all up about 120-130km if I do the lot (no guarantees I might get lazy LOL).
Anyone's welcome, it will be a casual ride, Domenic is on a flat bar road bike and only done 80km once before.

It comes out about 51km and would only be 15-20min longer than the standard ride. We'd still get back in time to have a coffee and it would be after the rush of orders
I'll be back in 3 weeks so wouldn't mind giving this a try if anyone's interested. Russ

If I can get my A out of bed (really tired and due for a sleep in - yes, break out the violins ) I'll try and meet up with you guys.
Regarding the Trek Store ride distance, give it another couple of weeks before making any plans. I think there's some Trek Annual Leave affecting things at the moment. Hopefully it should be sorted by the time you're back.
Don't wait for me tomorrow....and in case I don't make it, have a great holiday.
Cheers.
Stuart.

Good Route Russ, Grant and I did that one on the way home after coffee. The turf farm loop entering behind the windsor church or entering from the Richmond end is good as well, as is the driftway loop turning left at the Hawkesbury Racetrack and going out to castlereigh Road, plenty of great Routes.I will most probably do the driftway early tomorrow morning.Tim
Edit, no worries Stu catch ya soon mate.

Tim the driftway isn't bad (got some relo's out at Yarramundi so do it now and then) but it's rough and you get bogans hooning because its' straight ( we all know they really can't drive ) The turf farm roads are quite good though.
I generally like Castlereagh rd on weekends when there's few trucks. In the week it can be scary as the shoulder isn't always as wide as you'd want.
Have a good ride tomorrow.
Russ

I'm thinking of doing two Rouse Hill/Richmond/Rouse Hill loops for 100km. Starting at 0630 at the Trek store. Second loop should start at about 08:15. Easy pace.
Cheers,
Stuart.

Maybe next Saturday we need to pay hommage to the tyre/puncture gods before we set out (and hope for two groups )
